There are certain things in this world that should be common knowledge, much of which is gender specific. But the longer I’m alive, and the more I pay attention to the world and the people who live in it, I realize that in fact some people, specifically men, are either not aware of, or act as if they’re not aware of some of life’s simplest tasks. Whether you are young or old, single or in a relationship, married or not married, straight or gay, as a man, when you use the bathroom, specifically numero uno, you need to lift the seat, and more importantly put it back down when you finish. All of the recent offenders of this violation of Considerate Man-dom ™, have all grown up with at least a mother in their lives, but somehow never found it important enough to be considerate of any women he shares a bathroom with. Fellas, this is bad. You should never not lift the seat when you piss, nor should you lift the seat and not return it to the down position. If you don’t know this by now, it’s time for you to learn. If your lady acts like this isn’t a big deal, it’s because she’s being nice. If you’re single, it doesn’t matter. Put the seat back down because it’s a show of class. No longer can you blame ignorance for your misdoings. Let this be a lesson to you all.
