How to Make it in America: Episode 1
HBO has dropped a sneak peak of their new show “How to Make it in America,” on YouTube. This episode will air on Valentine’s Day, and stars some newcomers as well as a few familiar faces. If you have 29 or so minutes, check it out. At first glance I thought it was another corny “urban” flavored show, but after 20 minutes I actually found myself wondering what would happen next to the characters. The show is produced by Mark Wahlberg, and though it sort of seems like a low budget show that actually has an enormous budget, I think I may actually be into it. The story takes place in NYC, and is based around a bunch of different characters, “Ben” seeming to be the star. I like the fact that all of the guys seem to at least be in their late 20’s or early 30’s, and it’s not another “trying to get laid” show. I’m also biased towards anything based in NYC, so that didn’t hurt. I’m excited to watch the story unfold, and decide whether or not it’s worth watching. For now, I’m kinda hooked.
