Game Review: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

First off, I acknowledge that I’m about 2.5 months late on this review, but let’s be honest: are most of us really at the stage in our lives where we run out and get a new video game the day it’s released? If you answered “yes,” then ignore this review and search for your favorite official “gamer” site. Anyway, I picked up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Sunday, and holy crap! I started on the Call of Duty train late, and my first foray was COD 4. Before that, I was a Halo 3 maniac, and was happy to have something that was at least as good.  I followed that up with Call of Duty: World at War, but it felt forced, sort of like Season 3 of the Chappelle Show. When I heard about Modern Warfare 2, I had a feeling it would be exactly what World at War lacked. Fortunately for me, I was correct. Without getting too technical (because frankly I can’t), the graphics are incredible, the weapons are more amazing then CODs in the past, and the settings are so realistic it’s scary (specifically DC and the Virginia suburbs).  It’s ultra violent, and there’s so much going on visually that it literally gives me motion sickness (somehow I mean that to be a good thing).  I can’t say enough good about this game, other than if you have an Xbox 360 or PS2, and you like first person shooters, you need to have this game. As a side note, it’s hella expensive, so do yourself a favor a find a used copy at Gamestop. It will save you $10 of your hard earned money.

Below is one of the more violent scenes. Enjoy!

This game is one of the best games I’ve ever played. That is saying alot seeing as anyone could tell you I am a gamer. I’ve been playing this game on line since the mid-night release of it months ago. I have to say they have outdone themselves on the realism in the storyline. As great as the story is, it pales in comparison to the actual on-line play. Good *ish! He hit the nail on the head if you enjoy first person shooters this is game for you…
