Monday Night Matchup

So after ten weeks of NFL football only two still stand undefeated. The Colts and the Saints have had some early tests, the Colts most notably a few weeks ago against the Patriots. In that matchup a questionable call by Pats coach Bill Belichick to go for it on fourth down back-fired leading to Peyton Manning firring the game winner to Reggie Wayne, leaving the Colts with their perfect record.

Tonight, the Patriots get another crack at ruining a perfect season. The Patriots travel down to the Bayou to face the 10-0 Saints. In the Crescent City, New England will find the most explosive offense in the NFL. Drew Brees is one of the most talented qbs in the league. He has the advantage of throwing to an all-star cast of receivers led by Marques Colston.

The Patriots have an all-star cast on offense as well. Led by GQ man of the year Tom Brady, the Pats can be absolutely unstoppable at times. At his disposal are annual ALL-Pro Randy Moss and diminutive and weekly headache for slot cornerbacks Wes Welker. The two receivers work off each other extremely well and Brady can diagnose a mismatch in coverage better than anybody in the league.

So who will win in tonight’s matchup of unstoppable offenses you ask? B. Willie’s stone cold prediction is the Patriots 34-28. I believe the Pats will be able to score at will on the vulnerable Saints defense and Belichick will find a way to slow down the N’awlins offense. The Patriots need this game to keep pace in the playoff hunt and have played on this big of a stage before. The difference in experience will show and the Patriots will hand the Saints their first loss of the season.
