Boots I dig: 11/13/09

I never had plans to do a “Boots I dig” section, but as the colder months approach I figured why not? (It was a snap decision) The reason why I wanted to feature these particular boots is because I myself am on the hunt for the right pair. You see, I grew up in NC where you don’t NEED to own waterproof boots, but now I live in NYC, where if you don’t have boots, it’s a problem. Last year I was wearing sneakers in the snow, and then almost broke my neck on the stairs leading down to the subway. This year, I’m getting waterproof boots. This morning I found the Nike Heater II. These are the right mixture of functionality, style, and comfort. That way I don’t have to be forced out of my “sneaker comfort zone,” and still get all the advantages of a boot. From what I can tell, you can buy the brown ones HERE for $145, and the new black colorway will be out sometime soon (at which time I will purchase them). If you don’t want the standard Timberland, and are tired of looking at the Nike ACG boot that every thug on the planet wears, this just may be the boot for you. Remember you heard it here first (or 2nd).
