WEEK 3 NFL Power Rankings

WEEK 3 NFL Power Rankings

After 3 weeks Here are the top Ten teams in the NFL according to yours truly,

1. New York Giants- Its hard to go against this outstanding combination of Methodical Offense and Sufficating Defense. They haven’t had the hardest schedule (Redskins, Cowboys, Buccaneers) but, you can’t hold that against them. Next game – Chiefs a.k.a. 4-0

new-orleans-saints

2. New Orleans Saints- Offense Offense Offense. Drew Brees is this generation’s Dan Marino with significantly better weapons. As if D Coordinators hadn’t lost enough sleep, this past week in Buffalo they showed they could incorporate a ground game when swirling winds affected their aerial assault. Next Game – Jets. The classic battle between an unstoppable force and an immovable object.

3. Baltimore Ravens- Another impressive combo of O and D. Joe Flacco looks like an actual Q.B. The defense isn’t as dominant as it has been in the past, but they step up when needed i.e. against San Diego. Next Game – Patriots. This is as Big of a game as any. Huge test for both teams.

Indianapolis-Colts

4. Indianapolis Colts- Its almost unbelievable how this team can actually fly under the radar. Peyton is as dominant as ever. The D will never be confused with the ’86 Bears, but they can make plays. With the coaching change n the offseason, you weren’t quite sure what to expect, but then you realized Manning does it all himself anyway. Next Game – Seahawks. Could be interesting early, but the Colts have too much firepower.

5. New York Jets- Preseason polls had them in the high 20s as far as power rankings go. Everyone knew the D would b serious, but the maturation of Mark Sanchez has been incredible. They’ve played three talented teams and the closest margin of victory was 7. They showed some real intestinal fortitude this past week. Went up early, gave up the lead then came back and held off the desperate Titans. Next Game – Saints. Easily the game of the week, will be a real test for all involved.

6. New England Patriots- You knew they wouldn’t be too far down the list. Tom Brady is not his same ol’ self, but Coach Belicheck is. Outstanding gameplan this past week to go with a power running game which they haven’t used in three seasons. Smashed their way to a win and showed they are no pushover against an extremely talented Falcons team. Next Game – Ravens. Will be a real test for both, which Pats team will show? A win immediately puts them into top 4.

7. San Diego Chargers- Even though they aren’t even No.1 in their division, they have played much better than Denver, who is. Their O is one of the best in the league, even without LaDanian Tomilson. Their D has not made many plays, which hurts, but they are compensating by outscoring their opponents. Next Game – Steelers. Very tough game for the Chargers. The Steelers are 1-2 and angry. If they can hold ‘em off it will be a true test of character.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Tough loss against New England, but you had to believe the Pats wouldn’t lose two straight. Atlanta is a young exciting team with a great combo of playmakers on O. Their D isn’t as exciting but solid. The signing of Tony Gonzalez was outstanding. A team on the rise. Next Week – Bye week

Bengals Patriots Football

9.Cinncinati Bengals- Win over Pittsburgh on Sunday was monumental. They are playing great on D and are starting to come alive on O. Their only loss has come from a fluke tipped ball for a TD against Denver in Week 1. The only question is, will they be able to handle success? Next Game- Cleveland Browns. Shouldn’t be more than a speed bump on their way to 3-1. Cleveland is God Awful.

10. Minnesota Vikings- They are playing out the age-old blueprint for NFL success. Solid D, Great running game, veteran qb. Adrian Peterson is the best football player in the NFL, easy. Favre’s last second 40 yd TD to win last week was, well Favre-esque. The old man has the perfect situation for himself. Next Game- Packers. The 1st game against the Packers for Favre should be exciting. A Monday Night Football schedule dream.

There it is, Let the arguments begin!
